Welcome to Episode 152 of the Salsa Kings LIVE podcast

We have been featured as #1 in “Top 10 Salsa Podcasts” on FeedSpot.

In this week’s episode of Salsa Kings Live Andres explores the concept of “how you do one thing, you do everything”. He goes very deep into what you can tell about a person through dance and what people project to the world without being aware. This episode is a real eye opener for dancers and brings light to a lot of insecurities and barriers that everyone deals with.

Key Points:

  1. Attitude Shows Who You Are: Andres first talked about how the way we dance can say a lot about ourselves. If you’re methodical and detailed when you dance, then you are probably methodical and detailed in other areas of your life. If you don’t take dancing seriously then, that also tells other things. He explains this concept in great detail in the episode.
  1. Thinking While Dancing: Andres said it’s important to think about how we dance and be aware of not only what we do but how we do it. It can teach us things about ourselves that we weren’t aware of. It can also show you what you project to others and how they perceive it.
  1. Getting Better at Dancing: Andres mentions that we should always try to get better at things, including dancing. He suggested recording ourselves dancing so we can see what we’re good at and what we can work on.
  1. Dancin, Not Doing: Andres talked about how dancing is more fun when we just dance. What he means by this is that it is more fun when you don’t think about what other people are thinking, because it’s useless and it prevents you from having fun. Dance to have as much fun as you can and show who you are while you are at it.
  1. Being Brave and True: As previously mentioned, be brave and be yourself when you dance. Don’t worry about what other people think. It’s important to be real and express who you are through what you do.
  1. Seeing Things Differently: Andres says that everyone sees things in their own way, and that’s okay. We should be thankful for the chance to show ourselves through dancing and being able to see people’s different perspectives.

Closing Thoughts: This episode is all about authenticity and awareness. These two key factors are the most important when it comes to developing your dance to the next level whatever level that may be. Remember to always be aware of yourself and not only what you do but also how you do things. Authenticity is like your compass, be honest with yourself about what you like and don’t like and develop yourself into your own unique dancer. Keep dancing and be yourself!
