Welcome to Episode 171 of Salsa Kings Live

Hi everyone, welcome back to Salsa Kings Live, where we explore the magic of life, one dance at a time. Today, in Episode 171, “We Have Everything,” we’re talking about a big idea: what it’s like to have everything you need. This episode comes from my thoughts and notes over the past few weeks, all coming together in one big message about feeling complete and finding our true selves.

The Power of Imagination and Feeling Whole

In this episode, I talk about imagination as a strong tool. Our imagination lets us feel different emotions even if we’re not in those places for real. For example, think about standing in a jungle surrounded by wild animals—you’ll feel scared, right? Now picture yourself at a happy party with friends, and you’ll feel joy. These imagined feelings can help us understand who we are inside.

I ask everyone to imagine having everything they need. Who would you be if you weren’t busy chasing things? Who are you if you’re not worried about food, money, or shelter? I believe that when we feel whole and not lacking, we can truly be ourselves. We don’t have to act differently just to get what we need.

Dancing and Being Free

As dancers, we can feel whole for a few minutes when we hear the music. On the dance floor, all we need is the music, and for those few moments, we can let go of all our worries. We become free, and our real selves come out. When we’re not worrying about things, we dance with joy, and our movements feel more natural.

Imagine being on the dance floor with a partner. The connection you feel with your partner comes from not worrying, just enjoying the moment. I believe that how we show up in these moments changes if we feel complete and at peace. It’s like we bring out a different part of ourselves that’s more open and joyful.

Practicing Positivity

I also talk about practicing the feelings we want to have. It may feel strange if we aren’t used to feeling grateful or happy, but practicing can help. For example, if you haven’t smiled a lot, smiling might feel hard at first. But the more you practice, the more natural it becomes.

Social dance is a great place to practice these feelings. When we dance, we’re in a positive place, feeling happy and connected to others. This is a great time to practice smiling, gratitude, and joy. The more we feel these things while dancing, the more we can bring them into our daily lives. It’s simple, but not always easy. But the practice makes a difference.

Closing Thoughts

To end, I challenge you to ask yourself, “Who would I be if I had everything I needed?” Let this question guide you the next time you’re on the dance floor. Let your dance show your true self. Remember, dance can help us learn who we really are.

Also, I want to invite everyone to join the Miami Salsa Cruise from February 23 to March 2, 2025. We’ll visit beautiful places like the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and St. Thomas, with live salsa every night. I’d also love to train with you if you’re in the Miami area—just reach out to me at Andres at SalsaKings.com.
