Hello, Familia! Thank you so much for being here, these past 160 episodes have been a learning experience, and it couldn’t have happened without you. In this episode 161, we are expanding on what we talked about last time, “Will You Go Out With Me?” If you haven’t listened to it, please do! We’re going deeper into what we talked about before.

Key Points:

The main idea is about making connections, whether it’s in dancing, with friends, family, or significant others. It’s all about having fun together.

For me, making small talk is hard. I don’t talk much unless someone asks me a question. I used to think small talk was annoying or pointless, but I’ve learned that asking questions can help us connect.

In dancing, connection happens when there’s something outside of ourselves to connect over. It could be language, a game, or dancing. If there’s no connection, we can create it by asking questions and finding common ground.

In my dance classes, I joke with my students to ask each other their favorite ice cream flavor. It’s a fun way to find out about someone. We can connect over something like ice cream, even if we have different favorites.

I’ve grown up shy and introverted, but dancing has helped me open up and build confidence. When we dance, we’re playing and having fun with others. We don’t have to perform perfectly; it’s like being kids in a sandbox or playground. We’re just connecting and having fun.

Making these connections requires us to be open and vulnerable. We have to be willing to ask questions and sometimes feel silly. But it’s worth it because it allows us to know other people better.

Closing Thoughts:

So, the message for today is this: Just like in dancing, we can find things in common with others by asking questions and connecting. It’s not about performing perfectly; it’s about having fun and being open to new connections.
